Experts have discovered that the best way to find your dream job is to spend some time looking at all the possibilities, assessing your transferable skills and looking at what you really enjoy.
And when it comes to job hunting, the way to find a job is through your network of contacts.
Then you must target your CV, résumé or application form for each job you apply for. If you are sending a CV or résumé, you must also write a strong cover letter, which supports your application.
In the UK, you need to know exactly how to fill in a personal statement or supporting statement on your application form.

CV Writing, How to Write Your Resume
Posted in free resume by: admin

CV writing is a skill that you absolutely must master if you want to get a great job. However, not many people know how to write a good CV. Of course, you can pay someone else to write your resume for you, but that is not always a good idea.
Resume writers know how to create a professional CV, but they don’t know you and usually aren’t writing a document which is targeted to fit a specific job. So it pays to learn how to write your own.
It’s actually not as difficult as you might think and once you know the basics, you can create a laser targeted CV in no time at all.
Start out by getting all of the relevant information in one place In fact, try to make a note of all your employment and student activities as you go. This will save you a lot of time when it comes to updating your resume. Keep a file on your computer with dates, addresses and contact details of potential referees.
Make sure you have all your physical documentation in one place too – degrees, professional qualifications, and any certificates you obtained from short courses.
The next stage is to go through the job description and person specification in detail and highlight all the qualities, skills and experience you need for the job. Then make sure this is reflected in your CV and cover letter
Once you have assembled all of your information, you are ready to move on to the next stage, in part 2.

Finding Dream Job (in down economy)
Posted in job search by: admin
How do you find your dream job in a down economy? What are some job-search tips for people in search of meaningful employment in a recession? A recent college graduate called me, and got me thinking about the 10 pieces of advice I’d offer someone trying to do a guerilla job search. When I graduated in 91 it was a crappy economy, so you learn some fortitude (unlike the folks that graduated during the bubble in 1999.
Forget the traditional letters to recruiters, newspaper ads, and job boards. Too much competition there… it’s more efficient to network, interview well, use creative approaches, persist without being annoying. Here are 9 of my 10 tips. The one about interviewing well got me the most passionate, and it became a separate video (will post this week). Seriously- we’ve all been on one or both ends of a bad interview, and I feel so sorry for people that don’t know the basics on that.
Hope this helps! It’s free, anyway.
Any tips for the rest of us?
