How do i get free samples from makeup companies?

I’ve herd of people receiving free samples but haven’t figured out how yet. I go through makeup like socks so i get board with my makeup fast therefore i want some samples.

if you buy over a certain amount of money at a store, you receive free products. also if you ask the store, sometimes they will give you free samples.

Whenever I’m in Sephora and there’s a product I’d really like to try, I take a really long look at it, make sure a store attendant is watching me, then look at it some more, and then put it back. Then I go up to the store attendant and say I’d really love to try that product, is there a sample of it I could take home. If they say no, then ask if there’s a sample of anything similar.

-at macy’s at the counters, play with the makeup until a lady comes by and ask her if she has any samples. be very polite and let her know that you are an interested customer! I usually get moisturizer or perfumes, and the perfumes all look really cute together (I have like 30+ now)
-when ordering online, ask for samples if there is anywhere you can type in, this will work more so on smaller companies (ex. lush, coastal scents) instead of big ones like mac or bobbi brown
-sephora gives you a bunch of free samples when you order
