29 Ideas to Increase Sales and Profit

Posted in samples  by: admin
August 9th, 2010

Growing your business doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. These simple, cost-effective ideas are designed to help you increase your sales and profit, without draining your budget.

1. FOCUS ON HELPING, INSTEAD OF SELLING

You shouldn’t be trying to force people into purchasing your product or service. You should find people who want your product or service and then focus on offering any helpful information to them so that they can make an informed decision.

2. TARGET

If you’re trying to target everybody, then chances are, you’re not targeting anybody. For example, if you’re selling something that homeowners would want, as opposed to renters, then target homeowners. State your target clearly in all of your marketing materials.

3. STOP SPENDING MONEY ON INEFFECTIVE MARKETING

One great way to save money is to stop wasting it on marketing and advertising that isn’t producing for you. Don’t forget to track the number of responses you are getting from whatever method you use. If you’re not reaching your goals, then your strategy needs to be revised.

4. NETWORK

Networking is a great way to get your message out to a large number of people, for free. Since each person knows about 250 other people, you can spread the word about your business pretty quickly. Go to your local Chamber of Commerce meetings. Shake hands at business functions. Exchange business cards with associates you see in stores, churches and community events.

5. SET GOALS AND DEADLINES

Collect your thoughts for a moment or two, and set goals and deadlines. These are vital to your business success. State your goals as specific numbers. (e.g. 10 new accounts, 11% increase in sales, etc.)

6. FOCUS ON BENEFITS NOT ON FEATURES

Spend your time focusing on how your prospects will benefit if they purchase your product or service. For example, if you’re selling central air conditioning units, don’t sell the power of the unit. Sell the benefit of comfort. Selling insurance? Don’t sell the coverage amount. Sell the benefit of security.

7. WRITE TIPS ARTICLES

Newspapers and other publications are always looking for helpful tips articles that would be of benefit to their readers. Submit simple, problem/solution type articles related to your product or service. State the problem, and then share some insightful tips that can help to solve the problem. Always include information at the end of your articles so that people will know how to contact you to receive more information about your services.

8. BE PERSISTENT

Persistence is power when it comes to increasing your sales and profit. Far too many firms fail because they don’t follow-up long enough to produce results. Most sales are made after the seventh or eighth contact–the sale is rarely made after just one contact.

9. SUBMIT PRESS RELEASES

Press releases are a very cost-effective way to get your message out to many people . . . for free. Submit your press releases to a wide variety of publications for immediate release. Keep in mind that the newspapers will usually only print releases that are of interest to their readers, rather than of a selling nature.

10. OFFER TO BE A SPEAKER

Business and civic organizations are always looking for speakers for their meetings and get together. Make yourself available by contacting these groups and offering to talk about your area of expertise.

11. GIVE A FREE DEMONSTRATION

If possible, give free demonstrations of your product or service to those that might be interested. Follow-up with these prospects in a timely manner to attempt sales conversion.

12. DISTRIBUTE SAMPLES

If possible, get samples into the hands of people who may be potential customers. People like to try before they buy.

13. DISTRIBUTE INFORMATIVE LITERATURE

Make sure that you get your product benefits, features and ideas into the hands of your prospects. If people don’t know what you have, how can they make a decision to purchase it?

14. USE THE TELEPHONE

The telephone can be one of your most effective, and least expensive, sales tools. Call people who you would like to do business with. Ask for a few minutes of their time so you can show them how your services can help them save time, cut costs, increase sales, etc.

15. GENERATE REFERRALS

Referrals are a great way to generate new business. Don’t just wait for people to refer you. Proactively ask for referrals from existing customers, acquaintances, family and friends. Don’t forget to graciously thank anybody who refers your business to someone.

16. HAVE FUN

Frustration and stress will slow you down. You will succeed far better when you’re doing something that you love.

17. TALK TO YOUR CUSTOMERS ABOUT THEM AND THEIR NEEDS

Most company publications, ads, letters and sales literature are filled with words, photographs and information that do nothing more than toot the company’s horn. Talk about your customers needs instead. Rather than using the words, “I,” “me,” “my,” use “you” and “your.”

18. DEVELOP CUSTOMER-ORIENTED RELATIONSHIPS

Take an interest in your prospects and customers. Send them helpful articles that you think would interest them. If you know of an event that your prospect or customer will be celebrating, such as an anniversary or birthday, send them a card or small gift. They will appreciate your generosity and will think of you when they need your service, or if they know someone else who may need your service.

19. TELL YOUR PROSPECTS AND CUSTOMERS WHAT TO DO

Getting your message into the marketplace is important, but getting prospects/customers to respond is the real test. Tell your prospects exactly what you want them to do next (e.g. call for your free brochure, drop your reply card in the mail, etc.)

20. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF TESTIMONIALS

Whenever an existing or potential customer says something positive about your company, ask them if you could use their statement in your marketing materials. Your company’s credibility will increase with the use of testimonials from happy customers.

21. MAKE IT EASY FOR PEOPLE TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU

Your customer is not going to work for you. You have to work for them. Do anything you can to make doing business with your company easy and a pleasure.

22. CONTENT FIRST, FORM SECOND

When developing your sales materials and literature, spend less time worrying about the graphics and colors, and more time working on the content — what’s in it for your customers. As long as your message is enticing, black ink on white paper could work just as effectively as expensive four-color materials.

23. GIVE TO GET

There’s an old saying, “You can get everything you want, by helping enough people get what they want.” Listen carefully to your prospects and customers so you’ll know exactly what they want and be generous in your offers. That way you’ll be sure to reap the maximum rewards.

24. LEARN A NEW TECHNIQUE EVERY DAY

Read, go to seminars, listen to audio tapes. Continuously improving your sales and marketing skills will help you to increase your sales and profits.

25. ASSOCIATE WITH POSITIVE, SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE

Talking to and learning from people who are always striving for and meeting their goals, will help you commit to and achieve your own objectives.

26. BELIEVE IN THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE YOU SELL

If you don’t believe in the quality and benefits of your product and service, your prospects won’t either. Present the benefits of your product/service with confidence and enthusiasm.

27. FOCUS ON THE LIFETIME VALUE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS

Don’t focus on generating one-time customers. Build a relationship so that a prospect becomes a repeat, lifetime customer.

28. LEARN FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCE

Marketing is an important skill based on both knowledge and experience. The fastest way to gain that knowledge is to find someone who knows what works and has done it successfully. Ask about his or her specific experience in generating marketing results, as well as references, or testimonials. Reasonably priced marketing materials, like books, courses, workbooks, newsletters, audio cassettes, etc. can be excellent resources, that allow you to learn and apply effective marketing systems at your own pace.

29. OFFER QUALITY

Consumers always buy same brand from same retailer if retailer offer them quality products. Do not offer or try to push poor quality products for margin. Always offer and recommend good quality products to your consumer even if you are earning low margin.

Dna Testing: Bring Brothers and Sisters Together

Posted in samples  by: admin
August 7th, 2010

There’s no doubt that the modern field of paternity testing specifically and dna testing in general has come a long way in the last few years. As evidenced by popular television shows and reports we read about in newspapers and online, there’s little chance that you can hope to get away with a crime in this modern world thanks in part to modern dna testing. The field has divided up too so that paternity testing that establishes the relationship between a father and child is only one small area of what paternity testing is capable of. With modern technologies, dna paternity testing and its derivatives can:

Determine the relationship between a father and child Determine which members of a family can immigrate to which country Determine who is someone’s grandparents and Determine who is a brother or sister to who

Of course the obvious question would be why the people who are wondering about their connection to each other don’t go to the parents. If the parents were able to get tested, the procedure would be a simply paternity testing option done in a straightforward way. But that’s not always the case.

There are instances where the parents are not able to be tested for one reason or the other, and when this is the case the solution so that interested people can find out their relationship is a siblingship paternity test. People looking to have this test done should be aware that the results are not generally as conclusive as the more straightforward paternity testing variety, but these tests will give a general indication as to whether these people can be siblings.

Samples Collected

Like other forms of paternity testing, samples here are collected by a swab and the best laboratories can have the results in five to seven days. DNA samples from both the interested parties are necessary and it’s always a good idea to look for the best laboratories with the best reputation and the proper credentials from corresponding health departments as well.

Cadaver, Vehicles & Weapons Recovery

Posted in samples  by: admin
August 5th, 2010

Good day to you all. At CPA Investigations/ CPA recovery headquarters we have many good days. But there are those days when we get the grim task of recovering a loved one in the ocean, river or fast moving creek. The CPA dive team assembles the scuba gear, loads the trailers and trucks and backs up to our inflatable boat. The CPA dive team utililizes the best dive gear in the world. Divers have full face mask communications and have the ability to converse with the boat handler or other dive buddies in the water. The diver suits can be used in nuclear waste dumps, petroleums and the worlds harshest conditions without harming the divers. Videotaping or photographs are taken underwater at times, depending on visibilty to capture evidence surrounding the deceased. The inflatable boat is capable of being Heli- lifted into very hard to get areas that cannot be reached by 4×4 vehicles. The CPA Recovery team is comprised of 2 to 3 divers, 2 seperately used cadaver dog teams, 1 communication liason (between divers and media liason), 1 boat operator, 1 media liason, 2 ground personel. All of the above mentioned are highly trained divers and all are licenced private investigators with a vast background in missing persons, witness interviews and chronologies. We’ve been trained to preserve DNA and protect evidence so we can help the coroner, and the authorities to determine if this recovery was a homocide or an accident. In this article I would like to give you a little history on cadaver bloodhounds and their use for recoveries. These animals are trained on a daily basis in all types of environments under every imaginable scenerio. Samples of tissue, blood or bone matter are hidden in concrete, sewer, waterways and in articles for the dogs to practice searching while the cadaver dog handler learns and watches how the dog reacts, sniffs and claws. The relationship is truly amazing to watch. The dogs truly are the heros here.

Utilization and the History of the Cadaver Bloodhound
"Not knowing" is a greater burden for the family than the grief of positive knowledge of the death of a missing person. Discovering the truth of a missing person mystery is important in many reasons. That’s also the job of a special breed of canines.
This breed is known as the bloodhounds, a unique structurally designed dog whose olfactory cells (scenting ability) exceed any other breeds capabilities. The human nose consists of 5 million scenting olfactory cells, compare this to the bloodhound which exceeds 270 million. We cannot pinpoint the dog’s searching limitations because they seem to have none.

Documented detection with the use of bloodhounds has recovered 125 year old grave burials and 200’ detection below the water surface. The bloodhounds are uniquely trained on all DNA molecules that take place during the decomposition of a human body ie: hair, blood, teeth, body fluids and tissue. As we say, the whole body doesn’t need to be present for the dogs to identity (scenting out pieces of the puzzle to complete the initial picture) the dogs will locate substantial evidence in cases where the body has been moved, advanced decomposition, and or animal activity has taken place and aided in eliminating the complete picture. The dogs can detect all levels of aged decomposition above and below many earth’s surfaces including water ways.

The success and utilization of cadaver dogs have been evident for years, receiving much exposure in the USA, therefore bloodhound testimony is accepted in the US court of law. We’re still working hard to get some type of certification in Canada, as cadaver dog usage is not utilized or recognized in Canada. The local authorities and some security companies use canines to sniff out weapons, drugs and particular things that would be a recipe for a bomb. CPA Recovery has cadaver dogs that have been utilised at the 911 trade center attackes, San Francisco earthquake, Kenya bombings just to name a few. CPA Recovery utilizes the use of cadaver dogs to achieve success in the locating of cadaver and or remains.
CPA Recovery has found that cadaver, scenting dogs is an incredible resource that holds all the answers, to solve the mystery. Skill, experience and coordinated effort are required to locate an individual. The bloodhound is a skilfully trained tool, that can be applied as an asset in early and late detection. The relationship between scuba diver and dog is one that is very unique. The ability of each diver and dog is important but the meshing of the two are unequalled anywhere. The partnership of dog and diver is unusual and bizarre to the untrained un-lookers. CPA Recovery has been utilized by the FBI and many police authorities with great success. Look into the archives within this web site to read about the successful case files CPA has been a part of. Next time you hear a dog barking, it might not be that he is annoyed at something but rather detected something with his senses.

A Guide to Online Printers

Posted in samples  by: admin
August 3rd, 2010

There are a lot of companies in the Internet today that offer so many different services with just one click. Doing it online, you can buy virtually anything, as well as get tips and suggestions on any topic imaginable. One of these services that you can avail online is digital printers. From brochure printing to custom business cards, these online printers can provide you with printing samples so you can have an idea of their quality of work.

Through different websites, you can seek out different online printers where you can choose the most suitable partner for your print ad. Shopping is also made easy. Online printers can be found by just typing keywords in search engines such as Google. So if you’re looking for business card printing companies for example, just type “business card printing” and you’ll get different links for websites of these online printers.

Ordering is fairly easy. All you have to do is to follow these steps:

1- Pick a template.

Just like printing samples, online printers also provide templates that you can use for your marketing ad. You can choose from a wide range of brochure printing, custom business cards, full color posters, flyers, and even print calendar templates. Depending on your needs, the template can easily be customized to fit your requirements. There are also graphic images available that you can add to your design.

2- Choose the quantity, type of paper, and pricing options.

Also available online are different options for your paper stock, the volume of your print materials (whether in bulk), and the price for your print job. All these elements add to your printing costs, plus applicable taxes. This can be found on an online shopping cart provided in the online printer’s site.

Just remember that as with any other printing job, your costs decrease when you increase the quantity of your print job. In short, the more you order, the more you can save. But if you think you won’t be able to distribute a large quantity of print ad, then stick to a smaller number while keeping your costs low from the other elements.

3- Choose the shipping and method of payment.

As ordering online is done by clicking on your mouse in the comforts of your office or home, your online printer would somehow need to deliver your printed ads to you, hence the shipping method. Again, just like the printing samples, shipping, as well as the payment method, is provided in the website. All you got to do is to click on the most appropriate for your budget. But remember to approve first the final proof before sending your print job to the press. This would lessen errors, as well as ensure that you’re paying for quality end results.

When your print job is finished, all you have to do is to sit back and relax, and wait for your print ads to be delivered to your doorstep.

Dna Identity Testing Laboratory

Posted in samples  by: admin
August 1st, 2010

Although it may seem outlandish at first thought, it is becoming more common that questions of relationship surface at or around the passing of a relative. Many times, the issue is personal, that perhaps a biological relationship was never established with the now deceased relative, or was uncertain. In other situations, the issue may regard legal matters, such as inheritance of assets. Whatever the questions or reasons may be, DNA testing laboratories are experiencing a greater number of cases involving decedents.

So, then the question of how to determine the relationship arises. Of course, DNA testing is the answer, but what type of sample can be collected after a person is deceased? In theory, any human biological tissue, which contains nucleated cells, may be used for the purpose of DNA testing. However, many factors may affect the viability of a sample. If it is decided that DNA testing is necessary and a deceased individual is to be a test participant, if at all possible, a DNA sample should be secured immediately, at or around the time of death. Otherwise, it may then become more difficult to obtain a viable DNA sample. Unless the cause of death is under investigation, most bodies will be released from a morgue to an undertaker, if opted, relatively quickly. Upon release to an undertaker, embalmment, if opted, will then take place rather quickly, as well. The chemicals in embalming fluid contaminate the tissues of the body. This poses a problem if a DNA sample is to be collected from a decedent, for the purpose of DNA testing.

Recognizing the need to find a solution to this problem, the DNA Identity Testing Laboratory of Bio-Synthesis, Inc. underwent an experiment. Since it is widely known that after embalmment, the soft tissue of the body will not be adequate for DNA testing, the lab had to identify a unique source of DNA. The type of sample selected to perform the experiment was eyebrow hair. As opposed to hair from the scalp, eyebrow hair tends to be thicker in diameter and, therefore, has a more substantial root.

In nuclear DNA testing, any type of hair must have an intact root in order for nuclear DNA to be obtained. The selection of eyebrow hair over hair from the scalp was also due to the fact that many hair products have been found to act as PCR (polymerase chain reaction) inhibitors, which can prevent successful amplification of DNA (one of the steps in DNA testing).

The experiment involved eyebrow hair samples (with roots) taken from 15 embalmed cadavers, ages 20 years to 75 years. The time that the samples were taken after embalmment ranged from 8 to 24 hours. The result was that, from all samples, a full DNA profile was obtained. This is remarkable because, in many cases, non-standard, forensic samples yield only partial DNA profiles. However, in this experiment, again, full profiles were obtained from every sample. Prior to this experiment, other experiments were performed with other types of samples, nail clippings for instance, with inconsistent results.

The DNA Identity Testing Laboratory of Bio-Synthesis, Inc. has, in the past, dealt with many cases where a decedent was required to have DNA testing performed, and the body may have had to be exhumed. This process is not only invasive and time-consuming, it may be a distressing decision to make by a family member. By recognizing the need for DNA testing early on, long and complicated measures may be avoided. Family members of a decedent can then rest assured knowing that not only is their loved one at peace, they will also have peace of mind in finally having the answer to their questions of relationship.

Free Hoodia? What To Know Before Trying A Free Hoodia Sample

Posted in samples  by: admin
July 30th, 2010

If you’re looking for an easy way to lose weight quickly, you might want to consider Hoodia Gordonii.

Hoodia is a plant grown in the desert of South Africa. It has been used for years by the local tribesman to suppress their appetite when they go on long hunting trips. There is a molecule in it that fools your brain into thinking that you’re full and so you don’t want to eat.

Consequently, Hoodia can help you lose weight by suppressing your appetite and turning off your desire to overeat.

In studies, people taking this miracle plant extract have cut their calorie intake by up to 1000 calories per day, which can add up to substantial weight loss.

One of the more interesting developments in the Hoodia market is that many companies are now giving out free Hoodia samples. These can range from a few days to a few weeks supply. The hope is that you are going to try their product and like it so much you’ll want to continue using it.

Free Hoodia samples are not a new concept – companies give out samples all the time. Giving out free samples is a proven way to get people to know about your product, try it and get familiar with what it can do for them.

So what do you need to know before you try a free Hoodia offer? Well, there are advantages and disadvantages to most of these offers. Here’s a few things you need to know before you try one:

Advantages: Free Hoodia!

Free samples come in pure Hoodia capsules, fat-burners (where other fat-burning ingredients are included like green tea, capsaicin, etc.) and even weight loss patches. Most samples give you 1 week to 1 months worth of free product for you to try.

That means you can actually see if that particular product works for you and you can probably lose some weight into the bargain – all for free (or a very small shipping/handling charge). Not a bad deal.

Disadvantages: Recurring Billing

Most free Hoodia samples will enroll you in their recurring billing program when you request your free sample. That means that if you get a free 1 month sample, probably around the time it runs out, you’ll receive another 1 – 2 months supply that has automatically been charged to your credit card.

This isn’t a bad thing if you really like the product as it saves you the time of reordering. Plus most recurring billing programs actually give you a discount because you’ve enrolled in their autoship program. So if you were going to order again anyway, you can save some money this way.

But if you decide the product is not for you, you’ve got to be quick to cancel before they charge you for the next months supply. This means making sure you check their terms and conditions before ordering your free sample.

When checking terms and conditions, look for a clear way (a website or a phone number) to cancel the autoshipping program. Most reputable companies put this in their FAQ’s or terms and conditions section. With all of the competition on the market these days, these companies really don’t want to get a bad rap. If they do they know their sales will suffer.

So those are a few things you need to know about free Hoodia samples. If you’re unsure about a free sample, many websites will give you the option of trying a sample or simply buying a full bottle supply instead (this way you avoid the recurring billing program).

Just remember to follow the instructions on the Hoodia bottle and give it a few days to feel the full appetite suppressing effects. And please remember to consult your doctor before making any changes to your diet or lifestyle.

How is it possible to extract metal ions from aqueous samples, and how would the resultant extract b analysed?

How is it possible to extract metal ions from aqueous samples, and how would the resultant extract be analyzed?

You have to see which metals you expect in the sample then you select specific and selective ions to precipitate them or to turn them to colorful complexes…

Once you get color, you analyze the sample with a spectrophotometer… if you get a precipitate.. you get the weight of it…

But it depends on what you have in sample… And of course… you will always prepare standards for comparison before you go for your real sample…

Example: You get a MetalSulfate that is not soluble.. you precipitate it and weight and make the stechiometric calculations… You you get a MetalSaltComplex to b fluorescent for example.. you prepare a know concentration solution and build a calibration curve with Beers Law…

What is the appropriate measurement for my water samples?

Posted in samples  by: admin
June 24th, 2010

I have a science fair layout I have to write and I don’t know what the appropriate amount I should take from the Potomac. Is 15 mL too much, or too little? I’m taking 45 samples total.

I think 15 ml is too small – get at least 30 and 60 would be the best.

I’m not sure whether or not a pharmacy will carry one this large – a syringe 30 cc (ml) A 60 would be the best but I think you would have to go to a hospital or if you know someone who works in a hospital. By using a syringe your 45 samples will be all the same for sure and 60 ml would be an ample supple of water for testing. I know that farm veterinarians have them as they deal with large animals but I doubt that a small animal vet will have a 60 cc (ml) syringe.

Where can I send samples of sparkling water to test for carbonmonoxide?

Sparkling drinks (beer too) is sparkling because carbon-dioxide is compressed into.
I suspect some foreign sodas have carbon-monoxide attack potential.
Where can I send samples for credible testing?
Do not be a buffon "3rdeye" ; distinguish.
Carbonmonoxide keeps butchered meat fresh, but
what happens if living flesh takes that in ?

Realistically you cannot send samples for analysis.

In any case carbon monoxide is used perfectly legally as a food additive in the USA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_monoxide#Meat_coloring

Free Baby Stuff

Posted in samples  by: admin
March 15th, 2010

Did you know that you can start stocking up on free baby supplies the moment your baby arrives? It’s true; almost all hospitals supply new mothers an assortment of free products such as lotions, creams, diapers, formula and ointments. Some hospitals will even go so far as to give away diaper bags and bottle bags. This can set you up quite nicely and make you feel a bit more secure as you return home, but what then?

Well, it seems like there are more and more websites offering free samples and products to new mothers and their children. As is the case with most other freebie sites, these websites are loaded down with samples from companies that want to attract the business and brand loyalty of these new moms. Some of these sites are even offering free samples of formula which, as any mom can tell you, can be rather expensive. Many of the companies that offer free products of this nature have e-mail mailing lists where they will mail all registered users of their website specials and offers for free samples and products; it is worth your time to register with these sites for this reason.

It’s also a great idea to randomly check out search engines. Just type in whatever items you need followed by “free”. You’ll be amazed at how much free baby products are out there. Not only that, but if you are able to find multiple sites, you can really stock up. Can you imagine getting enough diapers to last you several months just for filling out a survey or signing up for a newsletter?

Another way to get free baby stuff is to think “outside of the box”. Mothers are instantly going to think of clothes, diapers, bottles and formula. But because of this, other opportunities for free products sometimes go overlooked. Here are a few freebies that are often available but get overshadowed by necessities.

Photos – Many photography studios offer free photo sessions for your baby. They do this in the hopes that as your child grows, you will return to them for future photography needs. This is a great resource for sending pictures to family and friends without having to opt for a more expensive option like the often overpriced hospital pictures.

Sippy Cups – While your baby obviously won’t need a sippy cup right away, it is always important to think ahead. Some companies offer free cups for babies and toddlers to test out new mouthpieces or designs. Even if your baby is only one week old, if you see an offer for free sippy cups, by all mean take it!

So there you have it. It seems that everyone else is just as excited about your new baby as you are! Of course, these companies merely want you to choose their brand over others. Still, it is to your advantage as a new mother to take part in any freebie offer for baby goods that comes your way!
