Breaking News: Gun ban follies resume

Posted in free resume  by: admin
March 8th, 2010

A message from the NH Tea Party Coalition says house Democrats have rushed the scheduling of a key gun bill hearing. They say it’s another attempt to deprive Second Amendment advocates the time to organize.

Some activists however are speculating that the rushed scheduling may simply be a result of the bill’s temporary nature.

The bill would override Dems’ use of rulemaking to “ban” guns from the state house buildings without going through any legislative process. The hearing, just announced, occurs March 8.

By the way the GOP did something similar in the 90s but has since 2006 become more constructive on the issue.

The Consequences of not Having a Good Quality Curriculum Vitae

Posted in free resume  by: admin
February 26th, 2010

What is a CV?

CV means the course of one’s life. This definition of a CV surprises many. For people often think that CVs are meant to be resumes.

CV is a summary of the academic qualifications and achievements of a person. Typically this summary includes a detailed description of all the awards and honors conferred on a person, presented logically. Though individual style and presentation vary the basic content of a CV remains the same.

There are the varied differences between a CV and a resume.

  • CVs are longer than resumes.
  • CVs place special emphasis on research capabilities and teaching experience. Resumes contain a crisp, brief mention of these.
  • CVs detail work experience related to the relevant field of teaching and research. Where as resumes contain all the experience gathered by the candidate in the course of time.

CVs and resumes are the two different terms. Some countries so frequently use them interchangeably that, they finally assume the same meaning.

Importance of Having a Good Quality Updated Resume

  • It’s a well known fact that many people apply for a job. The life of a resume, in the hands of an employer is just a few seconds. In other words the prospective employer glances at the resume. In such a short time only excellently written resumes catch attention. A resume that highlights all the salient features in a candidate’s education and work experience ensures the interview call.
  • Employers seem to operate on the logic that a person who works at preparing a good resume would work well in the job too. Many people, unaware of this logic present carelessly written resumes. Three out of ten resumes are rejected due to poor presentation. A person loses the job even before the interview call.
  • Poor CVs have spelling mistakes, fancy print or are written on poor quality paper. Such resumes get rejected in spite of the candidate’s good education and relevant work experience. Badly written resumes get the right candidate rejected.

Financial Costs of Bad Resumes

Bad resumes have many hidden costs. The loss of a good job is remuneration loss. In other words it is a financial loss. Good quality updated resumes help a person get the dream job. Bad resumes also get job offers. But these jobs are low paid and unattractive.

Psychological Costs of Poor Resumes

Poor resumes get repeatedly rejected. Repetitive rejection degrades a person bringing in extreme loss of self confidence. Good jobs brought in by good resumes elevate the social standing of a person.

Companies that Specialize in Writing Resumes

There are plenty of companies that specialize in writing resumes. They work online or they have regular offices where clients can interact with them personally. The clients fill in questionnaires with relevant details. These details are so impressively presented that they reveal the handiwork of a professional.

Resume writing companies can create different types of CVs to suit individual client requirements. The CVs are written by professionals with experience in the workings of the HR department.

Can They Be Bought Online?

Purchasing resumes online is an extremely simple procedure. The customer is presented with a questionnaire. This is filled up and submitted to the company. Once the company receives the details and the payment, they begin work.

The relevant details given in the form; are converted to a resume. The prepared draft is sent to the client for approval. Changes (if any) are made and the final resume is prepared. This resume is sent to the client who takes print outs of it. Alternately the company might take print outs of the resume on good quality paper. These are then mailed to the customer.

Many online companies offer complimentary services like giving relevant advice over phone or through email. Some companies offer to carry out free updates to the resume. Different companies charge differently. Rates vary according to the type of resume created or the number of complimentary services on offer.

Resume or CV writing follows no strict format. The only requisite is that it has to be well written. A good resume speaks for the candidate. Two important facts are worth remembering. A resume should not only be qualitative, it should be truthfully qualitative. And good CVs carry a covering letter.
